7-Day Mgoun Morocco Trekking Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Bouguemez (Happy Valley)
- Transfer from Marrakech to Ait Bouguemez, also known as the "Happy Valley" (2,000m).
- Discover traditional Berber villages and enjoy stunning landscapes.
- Overnight in a guest house in Ait Bouguemez.
- Driving time: ~5 hours.
Day 2: Ait Bouguemez – Azib N’Ikkis
- Begin the trek from Ait Bouguemez and head towards Azib N’Ikkis (2,600m).
- Pass through lush green fields, terraced farmlands, and walnut groves.
- Overnight in a mountain camp.
- Walking duration: 5–6 hours.
Day 3: Azib N’Ikkis – Tarkeddit Plateau
- Ascend towards the Tarkeddit Plateau (2,900m), with stunning panoramic views of the Mgoun Range.
- The trek includes a mix of rocky paths and open terrain.
- Overnight in a mountain refuge or camp.
- Walking duration: 6–7 hours.
Day 4: Tarkeddit Plateau – Mgoun Summit – Oulilimt Valley
- Early morning climb to the summit of Mount Mgoun (4,071m).
- Enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and valleys.
- Descend to the Oulilimt Valley (2,600m) for overnight camping.
- Walking duration: 8–10 hours.
Day 5: Oulilimt Valley – Ait Imi Pass – Tighremt N’Ait Ahmed
- Trek along the Oulilimt River, passing nomadic camps and remote landscapes.
- Cross the Ait Imi Pass (2,900m) and descend to Tighremt N’Ait Ahmed village.
- Overnight in a guest house or camp.
- Walking duration: 6–7 hours.
Day 6: Tighremt N’Ait Ahmed – Ait Bouguemez Valley
- Trek through picturesque landscapes, terraced fields, and Berber villages.
- Arrive back in Ait Bouguemez Valley, where you can relax and reflect on the journey.
- Overnight in a guest house.
- Walking duration: 5–6 hours.
Day 7: Ait Bouguemez – Marrakech
- Transfer back to Marrakech, enjoying the scenic drive through the Atlas Mountains.
- Arrival in Marrakech marks the end of your trek.
- Driving time: ~5 hours.

- What to pack: Comfortable hiking boots, layers of clothing (including warm layers for high altitudes), rain gear, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, gloves, water bottle, first-aid kit, toiletries, and a headlamp.
- Meals: Breakfast and dinner will be provided in the guest houses and camps. Lunch can be packed or purchased along the way.
